Reface my Cabinets?

Refacing kitchen cabinets is a great way to update your kitchen while avoiding the high cost, demolition and kitchen down-time of a full kitchen remodel. If you are happy with the general layout and are looking to update the style of your kitchen, then YES, kitchen cabinet refacing could be the very best option for you!

The cabinet refacing process is pretty straightforward. Typically, cabinet refacing companies purchase pre-finished doors and drawer fronts and a veneer, typically vinyl that matches. They remove the current doors, apply the veneer to the face frame with an adhesive and attach the new doors. There are other methods as well to deal with the face frame including attaching wood stock that is pre-finished to match the doors and drawer fronts. There are pluses and minuses to all the methods, so it's more about what is the best fit for the kitchen and not to use a "one size fits all" approach.

At Rocket Finish we approach cabinet refacing a little different than most. Unlike most refacing companies, we are experts in cabinet refinishing and finishing from the start. We don't purchase pre-finished, and also therefore, more expensive doors and drawer fronts. We custom order solid wood doors and apply the factory finish in-house with our state-of-the-art equipment and coatings that exceed KCMA standards. Many cabinets, even if they have vinyl or thermo-foil doors and drawer fronts, still have wood frames. Those frames can be refinished to match the new doors and drawer fronts perfectly and eliminate the need to apply vinyl or additional material to the cabinet frames. This method does not alter the original construction of the cabinet frames.

Custom crown molding, light railing and end panels that match the new cabinet doors are a great way to add a custom look to your kitchen and really add value to your home.

The best way to find out if our custom cabinet refacing is the best option for you, it's best to schedule a consultation with us. If you are in Columbus, Upper Arlington, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Westerville and surrounding Central Ohio communities, then contact us today and see how cabinet refacing could turn your kitchen into the space you've always wanted and without the high cost and down-time of a major kitchen remodel.
